
For nearly 50 years, a locally owned, woman-owned business has been out front in making sure that local businesses’ assets are safe and secure.
Southern Guard Service, Inc. will celebrate its 50th year in operation in September — a milestone that celebrates the commitment the company has had to its employees, clients and community over the years.

Business owner Peggy G. Terrebonne said Southern Guard Service, Inc. takes pride in protecting the interests of clients it serves, by providing a more personalized security plan to a diverse clientele.
“All companies’ assets are important to them and used in production of their product,” Terrebonne said. “Keeping these assets safe and secure saves money to their companies and minimizes production downtime.”
Southern Guard Service, Inc. has been locally owned and operated in southern Lafourche Parish since 1972 when Gilbert and Ethel Gautreaux founded the Larose-based company. Over time, the company grew to where it is today, servicing a client list throughout the Tri-parish region and throughout South Louisiana.

The business has always been family-run with most of Gilbert and Ethel’s 8 children and some of their grandchildren working in some capacity since the earliest days.
